Deep Etch Art Specifications
At Crystal D, digital artwork provided for crystal awards is not necessarily considered production-ready. Use the art specifications found here as a guide. Futher modifications may be necessary to make artwork production-ready. If this is the case, the art department will notify you of any art charges. The first 30 minutes of art time are at no charge.

Layout and Personalizations
When planning artwork for crystal awards, use as few files as possible. The time required for the art department to open and manage various files is added to the art charge. The link to the right, and below, illustrates the preferred file structure for production-ready art. Art charges may decrease if artwork is provided in this format.

Re-draws and Touch-ups
We use the term 'touch-up' to describe necessary alterations we must make to ensure etchability. The term 're-draw' describes the conversion of raster art to etchable vector art. The PDF file to the right, and below, illustrates each process. Use these examples to help you select the best artwork for your awards order.

Etching Type
Etching Type refers to the text that will be etched on your crystal awards. We cannot guarantee a clear, legible, uniform etch using a font that doesn't meet our specifications. Type that is too small can result in an inferior etch that is inconsistent with our high-quality standards.

Etchability
To avoid loss of detail or poor quality artwork must meet very specific specifications. Any artwork that does not meet these specifications may incur an art charge. An estimate of these charges will be provided prior to production. The PDF to the right, or below, illustrates examples of poor quality art and its acceptable counterpart.
