Crystal D, a Leading Supplier of Crystal Awards, Packs Meals to Help Feed Starving Children
June 15, 2007 – St. Paul, Minn. – www.crystal-d.com – Crystal D, a leading supplier of corporate recognition awards, packed 20,736 meals through the Feed My Starving Children organization in Eagan, Minn., on June 14. The number of meals packed is enough food to feed 57 children every day for one year.
This is Crystal D’s second annual participation in Feed My Starving Children’s meal packing program. Last year Crystal D packed 14,472 meals for the organization. Each meal includes nutrient-rich dehydrated vegetables, soy, rice, and chicken flavoring. Feed My Starving Children distributes food to children throughout the world including the Ukraine, Brazil, Africa, and Haiti.
Crystal D Employees Help Feed Starving Children
“It is very important to Crystal D’s culture to participate in a number of community outreach programs each year,” says Chuck Dahlgren, president. “We have a strong belief in giving back to the community and Feed My Starving Children is a great organization to do that with. The experience at Feed My Starving Children puts world-wide hunger into perspective for everyone at Crystal D. It feels great to be making a difference.”
In addition to volunteering time, Crystal D employees also chose to deduct their hours worked from their pay checks to donate money to the cause.
“It is a great feeling to know that you are making such a huge difference to these children,” says Cathy Klein, bookkeeper. “The small amount of time we spent packing the meals will allow so many children to get the nutritious food they need. It is really true that one person can make a difference.”
