Crystal D, a Leading Supplier of Corporate Awards and Plaques, Packs Meals to Help Feed Starving Children

October 8, 2009 – St. Paul, Minn. – www.crystal-d.com – Crystal D, a leading supplier of corporate recognition awards and plaques, packed 30,240 meals through the Feed My Starving Children organization in Eagan, Minn., on Sept. 21. This number surpasses Crystal D’s goal to pack 30,000 meals during the 75-minute timeframe. The number of meals packed is enough food to feed 83 children every day for one year.Crystal D Employees

This is Crystal D’s fourth annual participation in the Feed My Starving Children meal-packing program. Last year, Crystal D packed 27,216 meals for the organization. Each meal includes nutrient-rich dehydrated vegetables, soy, rice and chicken flavoring. Feed My Starving Children distributes food to children throughout the world including the Ukraine, Brazil, Africa and Haiti.

“Participating in a number of community outreach programs is an important part of Crystal D’s culture,” says President Chuck Dahlgren. “Feed My Starving Children is a great organization that provides life saving food to children all over the world. As a company, Crystal D feels that we really can make a difference by volunteering for this great organization.”

In addition to volunteering time, Crystal D employees can also chose to deduct the hours worked from their paychecks as a monetary donation to the cause.

Feed My Starving Children Background
Feed My Starving Children is a local non-profit organization committed to reducing the number of starving children throughout the world. They collaborate with relief organizations worldwide to distribute highly nutritious dry meals. In 2008, more than 310,000 volunteers packed 73.6 million meals.
