What  Are Symbols?
Symbols are all around us. Symbols are used to designate countries, states, athletic teams, social groups, and nationalities.
 
For example, flags are one of the most common symbols. Each state in the United States has a unique flag designed to represent the landscape and culture of the region. Similarly, athletic teams wear jerseys with bright colors and a prominent logo to represent their affiliation.

Awards are symbols that communicate a message of achievement and honor. They represent effort, initiative, dedication, and hard work. They also act as a physical reminder of a recognition event.
