Crystal D Helps Local Community
October 3, 2006-St. Paul, Minnesota— Crystal D employees jump started September with a newly initiated community outreach program by donating approximately 280 pounds of food to a local food shelf. They donated food to Keystone Community Services, a community-based human service organization serving the Midway and North End areas of St. Paul, the north suburban communities of Ramsey County and beyond.
Crystal D employees collect pre-packaged food to donate to the food shelf at the end of each month. “Keystone Communities help to feed 900-1,100 people each month,” says Cathy Klein, Community Outreach Coordinator. “It’s the least we can do as a company to help the local community.”
“Our company goal is to donate over 5 bags of food per month,” states Klein. “Ultimately, our annual goal is to donate over 1,000 pounds of food.”
In the future, Crystal D employees will volunteer at Keystone Communities sorting and packaging food. The Keystone Community food shelf needs a variety of items from the very basic to ethnic food.
